Leader-Led Model

A group of 2 or more leaders guide students through the program. Leaders share the responsibilities of facilitating class time, reviewing homework, hosting office hours, checking in on students personally, and leading and giving feedback in labs. While leaders are often experiencing the program content for the first time alongside students, they have more experience teaching the Bible and bear the weight of encouragement and feedback for students.

For leaders, Kelly and Lindsay provide dedicated office hours to help them learn to grow as coaches. We recommend churches who want to use the Leader-Led model have at least 2-4 people with teaching experience who want to be involved as leaders. At least two of these leaders need teaching experience to be able to give feedback and guidance to developing students. Other leaders can help administratively throughout the program.

  • Churches that have at least 2 people with teaching experience who can be available throughout the course of the program.

  • Leaders facilitate class time and lead discussion using the leader notes provided.

  • Students turn their homework assignments into a designated leader to be reviewed.

  • In every lab you will need 2 of your leaders present to give feedback to the students. Together these leaders will facilitate the lab time by preparing the room, printing forms and timing the teaching and feedback. Only leaders will give verbal feedback. In the last 2 months of lab, leaders and students can fill out feedback forms. Leaders will take all the feedback forms for review before giving them to the participants. We provide a lab guide and training at the beginning of the program that all leaders will attend. Our feedback forms are detailed and designed to identify areas of strength in a teacher and areas of growth.

  • Students will first ask their leaders for help or attend their leaders’ office hours. Kelly and Lindsay provide special office hours just for leaders to help them learn to grow as coaches.

Every Teach Equip student will have access to our public slack channels including one dedicated to Message Help where all TE students help one another in the development of their messages.

  • Have between 2-4 people who want to be involved as leaders. At least two of these leaders need teaching experience to be able to give feedback and guidance to developing students. Other leaders can help administratively throughout the program.
