For a deeper dive on these issues, please see this position paper: Complementarianism and Preaching: An Acts 29 Position Paper. We’d like to point your attention specifically to pages 19-38 which speak to the role of women in Christian ministry.
IF YOU’RE NOT SURE WHERE YOU LAND…
The position we hold is called complementarianism. But other faithful Christians hold different positions on this issue. We strongly encourage you to spend time studying the Scriptures for yourself and developing your own convictions about these issues from the Word. Though these are secondary issues (meaning you can be an orthodox Christian while holding different views), Romans 14 encourages us to develop a strong conviction about these things as a matter of faith.
Therefore our convictions about these issues shouldn’t be rooted in our experiences (whether good or bad), our preferences, our desires, or even just what we were taught in the church we were raised in. Rather, our convictions should come from a thorough study of what God’s Word has to say on the issue and a desire to submit to what we find there. “Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.” (Romans 14:3, 23)
Start by reading the scripture cited above. But we’ve also collected some resources below that we think you’ll find helpful.
