WHAT TO EXPECT

  • You’ll teach for 20 minutes and received personalized coaching from Lindsay and Kelly.

  • A written feedback form will be sent to you afterwards

  • There are 3 teachers in each lab. Listening to their messages and coaching is part of the learning experience!

  • All labs happen on zoom. You’ll need a stable internet connection and a quiet place that’s uninterrupted.

  • I was amazed by how detailed and intentional Kelly and Lindsay’s feedback was for me. They took time to listen to my whole message and carefully evaluate not only how well I stayed true to the Biblical text, but also the mechanics and flow of my message, as well as the delivery. Because they are skilled teachers, they were able to highlight some specific areas where I needed to improve in order to connect better with my audience. Their input was invaluable. Their input was personable and clear. The experience and expertise they offer female teachers is a rare gift!

  • Before Teach Equip, I was already teaching the Bible regularly, yet I couldn't always identify why some messages resonated while others didn't. No one had ever really shown me the 'behind the scenes' process of how a message is truly crafted. Teach Equip was incredibly helpful, providing me with both the essential tools and a clear framework for creating impactful messages. What set it apart was the individualized feedback. I had never had someone sit down with me to provide a personalized response, identifying what worked well and where I could improve. While people are often encouraging and say a message was 'great,' Teach Equip offers specific, personalized insights. They helped me recognize my unique gifts and how to lean into them, while also identifying my specific challenges and the steps needed to improve.   • Reflecting on my time with Teach Equip, the labs were undoubtedly one of the most beneficial aspects of my journey. While I started the program feeling nervous and my inner "perfectionist" was hesitant to receive feedback, that experience is exactly what helped me grow the most. The feedback eventually became my favorite part of the program. It allowed me to identify specific areas for improvement, and by the end, I could see tangible growth in myself. That growth doesn’t stop once the program ends; I still apply that same feedback today when preparing messages for my church. It has even changed my approach to teaching, as I now proactively ask others for feedback on what went well and what could be improved. Labs truly enhance the Teach Equip experience by providing a safe space. You can try out different teaching styles and you have the freedom to mess up while you’re learning and you get to practice in front of people who truly care about you and want to see you grow as a Bible teacher. If you are feeling nervous about the labs, don't be. They are an awesome and essential part of the program that I still deeply appreciate. We can all benefit from some good feedback.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes, all zoom labs are recorded and sent to you for future reference.

  • Lindsay and Kelly will be present, along with 2 other teachers.

    Our graduates and current students are also invited. We are never sure how many will be present at the time of the lab.

  • Yes, you are welcome to invite anyone you want to join you on the call by sending them the zoom link information.

  • Nope! Lindsay and Kelly make this coaching available to anyone.

  • No. Men and women are welcome to sign up for a lab spot to receive coaching from Lindsay and Kelly.

  • Lindsay and Kelly will both provide written and verbal feedback. No one else on the call will be allowed to provide comments.

    Our graduates and current students might provide written feedback for their own continuing education. If Lindsay and Kelly feel that those feedback forms would be helpful to you (after reading through them), we will send them along as well.

  • We only have time for you to teach for 20 minutes. Here are a few options: teach the part of your message you MOST want feedback on. We’ll give you a minute at the beginning and the end to give us context for that part of your message.

    Give a shorter version of the teaching by cutting out stories, examples or intros/outros, so that we get the full picture of your outline, flow, etc. But make sure at least one section of the teaching remains as is. We want to get a sense of who are as a teacher.

    You can book 2 spots in the same lab and then we can give you the full 40 minutes to teach.

  • Those are the only times we have available this year. You can consider bringing Teach Equip to your church and learning how to host your own labs!
